Project Overview
In Cesar Department, northern Colombia, a solar developer launched a utility-scale photovoltaic plant to address chronic power shortages caused by the region’s hydro-dominated grid—prone to seasonal imbalances and local bottlenecks. The client had no prior experience in solar-integrated distribution systems and required a turnkey solution that complied with Colombian technical regulations (e.g., RETIE), controlled capital expenditure, and withstood the area’s hot, humid, and mildly saline coastal environment.
